Dec- The South African Qur`aan Union herewith invites you and your family to attend the `Cape Town Qur`aan Festival` that will be taking place at various mosques from 14- 20 December 2009, Insha`Allah.
Qari Abdullah Saeed Anwar, a leading Qur`aan reciter and Qiraa`aat teacher from Pakistan, will be the guest of honour at the event.
The venues are as follows:

Mon 14- Masjidus- Salaam, St Athens Rd After Maghrib
Tues 15- Darul Islam Masjid, Surrey Estate After Maghrib
Wed 16- Masjiduth-Thanie, Rocklands After Maghrib
Thur 17- Masjidul Kareem, Eagle Park After Maghrib
Fri 18- Husami Masjid, Cravenby Jumu`ah
Fri 18- Ahmedi Sunni Masjid, Grassy Park After Maghrib
Sat 19- Masjidul Irshaad, Woodlands After Maghrib
Sun 20- Habibia Soofi Masjid After Maghrib

South African Qur`aan Union are also offering free fulltime Hifdh classes for boys and girls at the Institute of Islamic Sharia Studies, Heideveld. Registrations are now open.

Asaaneed Ibn Al Jazaree- Book

This work details the sanads of Ibn al-Jazarî found in the narration of Hafs. As well as his biography and his contribution to the legacy and the science of qirâ`ât. The book also gives a brief introduction to qirâ`ât, focusing on the explanation of what a reading (qirâ`ah), narration (riwâyah) and more specifically, a way (tarîq) was.
