Dec- The South African Qur`aan Union herewith invites you and your family to attend the `Cape Town Qur`aan Festival` that will be taking place at various mosques from 14- 20 December 2009, Insha`Allah.
Qari Abdullah Saeed Anwar, a leading Qur`aan reciter and Qiraa`aat teacher from Pakistan, will be the guest of honour at the event.
The venues are as follows:

Mon 14- Masjidus- Salaam, St Athens Rd After Maghrib
Tues 15- Darul Islam Masjid, Surrey Estate After Maghrib
Wed 16- Masjiduth-Thanie, Rocklands After Maghrib
Thur 17- Masjidul Kareem, Eagle Park After Maghrib
Fri 18- Husami Masjid, Cravenby Jumu`ah
Fri 18- Ahmedi Sunni Masjid, Grassy Park After Maghrib
Sat 19- Masjidul Irshaad, Woodlands After Maghrib
Sun 20- Habibia Soofi Masjid After Maghrib

South African Qur`aan Union are also offering free fulltime Hifdh classes for boys and girls at the Institute of Islamic Sharia Studies, Heideveld. Registrations are now open.

The South African Qur’aan Union is a non governmental organisation that focuses on developing Muslims by imparting essential knowledge regarding the various disciplines of Qur’anic Knowledge.

The group further serves as a body which coordinates activities between Qur’anic institutions, Qur’aan reciters, scholars, memorizers and enthusiasts, thereby creating a platform of interaction and Qur’aanic revitalization.

Says Allah (SWT): "Read in the name of your Lord, the One who created you."

At the very inception of the final divine revelation, our beloved Messenger (SAW) is instructed to read. With these simple words, Allah most High has declared war on illiteracy, ignorance and superstition. Hence annihilation and evil associated with it.

Says Allah(SWT): "We have neglected nothing in the book" So needless to say that the answers to the many problems facing our Ummah and youth in particular, has neither been neglected in the Glorious Qur'aan. So our core mission remains the promotion of learning and teaching the Qur'aan.Says our beloved Rasoolullah (SAW): "The best amongst you are those who learn the Qur'aan and teach it."
